DONEGAL
CROSS COUNTRY

RUN WITH A WINNER:
A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE

Anyone with the will and motivation to work hard can learn to run, enjoy it, feel exhilarated by it, and become successful.  With the proper guidance we hope to make running a fun and positive experience. Remember consistency is the key to running.  No one has all the answers to running success.  There is no substitute for hard work and the desire to do your best.
Success is knowing you did your best to become
the best you are capable of becoming.

Donegal Cross Country has always had a program of excellence.  From the very beginning of the program Donegal runners gave their best effort and became successful.  They reached for excellence and made the extraordinary seem ordinary.  They were committed to running, their school, and their team.  Their best effort was expected, and they expected the same back from their coach.  They worked hard and left Donegal Cross Country feeling good about their accomplishments, knowing they had given their best.

So what is Donegal Cross Country about?  What is it you are about to be apart of?  It is my expectation that every runner who joins the program wants to be successful and will come give their bestDonegal Cross Country is committed to the success of each individual who comes out for cross country.  Each athlete can be successful, and they are all important to the team.  There are no cuts.  No one sits on the bench.  Everyone is an active participant.

Each runner can be successful.  Success is not just winning.  If winning was the only thing that gave success, there would be a lot of unsuccessful people out there wasting their time running and competing.  Success is not just about setting records or being number 1.  Records are broken and there is always a new number 1.

Winningest basketball coach John Wooden said, Success is knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.  Using this belief and his Pyramid of Success he taught and pushed each athlete to be their best and be a success. This is what Donegal Cross Country is about.

So what do you need to do to be successful?  Most of all you need patience and time.   Running success won't happen over night, and it demands dedication from the student athlete's already busy schedule.  Through consistent training and working on the building blocks to the Pyramid of Success (hardwork, commitment, determination, etc…) you will be at your cross country best.  You will reach and achive your goals and dreams and more that you thought you could accomplish.
