Duane Koser
The 2010 season will be Duane's 2nd year coaching the HS Varsity squad. He has coached the jr high runners for 4 years and has been a volunteer coach for a number of years in addition to coaching the distance runners in track and field. He has had athltes make districts and states in both cross country and track.
He knows the program very well from competing on the team when it was initially created. Duane is a Donegal graduate where he competed in Cross Country and Track and Field. Duane competed collegiatelly for the Naval Academy and still runs and racings in local road races.
Highlights of his career were finishing 2nd at states in crosscountry his senior year and winning a district championship. He also is on the Top Ten Track and Field Honor Roll at Donegal in the mile and 3200meters. He placed 3rd in the 3200 meters at States his senior year.
Philip Koser
The 2010 fall season will be Coach Koser's 10th season coaching at Donegal. This year he will coach the jr. high runners where he teaches 6th grade math and science.
He has coached the varsity squad and helped guide boys teams to LLL section championships in 2001 and 2002. He has had the oppurtunity to coach 4 individual state qualifiers and 8 league medalists. His ultimate goal would be to qualify a team for the state meet.
Philip is also the Head Track and Field Coach at Donegal HS since 2006.
He is an alum of Hempfield High School and Messiah College where he competed in both cross country and track and field. Major highlights of his high school and college running were competing at states, being part of a team at Hempfield that was 2nd at states, a career team record of 70 wins and 5 losses, and in college, winning the 3,000 meter steeple chase at the conference meet his freshman year.
Kim Griest
Kim is a volunteer assistant coach with the team. She has help with the team for 6 years. Kim teaches learning support for the district and enjoys running road races.
